Imphal, April 13 2009: The outlawed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has conveyed its heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the people of Manipur for having observed the Martrys' Day today successfully.

Secretary of Publicity, RPF, T Leishemba in a press release stated that the RPF expresses its gratitude to all those who, leaving behind their tight schedules and incoveniences, braved the scorching sun to take part in offering floral tributes at the Martyrs' Memorial on the flat site on Cheirao Ching today.

The horde of people who came to offer floral tributes at the Martyrs' Memorial site show that the struggle for liberation being waged by the RPF is the right struggle, the people support the struggle and one day the flag of independence and sovereignty will flutter high in the sky of motherland Manipur, Leishemba stated.

The RPF also lauded all young students, matured elderly persons, discerning teachers, courgeous sisters and mothers, who without tiredness and fear for the obstructionist activities of the police took part in the observance.

The RPF will never forget the people's participation, Leishemba stated.

He also thanked those who, not only took part in offering floral tributes to the martyrs, but also extended help of different kinds: doctors, nurses and medical staff, those who supplied drinking water, those who lent tents and screens, print and electronic mediapersons, Electricity, transport, clubs, organisations, Meira Paibees, AMWJU, All Manipur Bar Association, High Court Bar Association, brothers and sisters of various communities of the hills and the plains, students, etc.

Leishemba further pointed out that it is the rule of war for the two sides to fight like men to win.

In today's civilised world rules of war are being framed and followed.

But those who don't bother about the rules, mete out sentence without trial.

The Government of India has been inforcing various black laws in Manipur in order to carry out state terrorism, he stated.

Under these black laws, the people of Manipur have beenearing endless harrassments, death, rape of women, looting of valuables from the house, destruction of properties, fake encounters, torturing persons to the degree of disabling them for life, and so on carried out by the security forces of India and the Manipur Police Commando daily, T Leishemba rued.

No law in force anywhere in the world permits such brutal activities of state terrorism.

The Government of India and its puppet government must stop these activities at once, the Secretary of Publicity, RPF categorically stated.

He reminded that even the dead bodies of enemies killed in the battle field are respected, arrangement is made for the dead bodies to reach their near and dear ones, and the tombs, graves and memorial sites are respected.

These are the laws that the whole world is abiding.

But in Manipur, some police commandos who don't know their fore-fathers' true geneology and who are cowards were vandalising the memorial sites of the martyrs on the Cheiraoching at late night.

The RPF feels pity for their narrow minded mentality which refuses to get civilised, Leishemba stated.
