Imphal, May 11 2009: THE NEWS published today in the Imphal-based newspapers that during an operation launched near the border pillar No.110 in Ukhrul district by the 12 Assam Rifles, a great deal of hardships had been rendered on the UNLF/MPA as per a press release issued by the PRO, AR is a totally fabricated news, the banned United National Liberation Front (UNLF) Manipur has said.

Rejecting the news report, Ksh Yoiheiba, senior publicity officer, Department of Publicity, UNLF today stated in a press release that the most prestigious and serious act of the IOF deployed in Manipur is to fight with the UNLF/MPA.

Therefore among the IOF too, the PRO of AR tries harder to spread such cooked up news, Yoiheiba stressed.

He further stated that as per information received by UNLF, the 12 AR of IOF were so scared to enter the said place thinking that UNLF/MPA cadres could have been there, so they fired countless number of mortar shells indiscriminately across the border.

It was because the AR had got so frightened after 14 of their men had died in the hands of MPA at Kamjong-Pheisat on April 14 last that they indiscriminately opened fire towards the border of the neighbouring country.

Then when a situation of dispute arises, they might just bluff that cadres of UNLF/MPA had fled towards Myanmar.

This is part of the deceptive strategy of the 'Mayangs', the press release alleged.

Pointing out that it needs no elaboration on the character of the AR since it is well known to the people of Manipur, Yoiheiba stated that such a low down security force exists nowhere else in the world.

The incident of arrest of Khwairakpam Megha by a few police commandos as a KCP-MC activist from Khagempalli then arrest of the same person from Moreh as a PLA by Assam Rifles is b now well known to the people, which is a scandal that can not be concealed, the press release stated.

However, the attempt of AR to turn against the people and the civil society by lying is a complete disregard of the people, Yoiheiba charged adding that every commando personnel involved in this scandal had been identified by the Imphal West commandos and have been arrested and are now in the police custody.

UNLF/MPA is pleased to note that there are personnel within the state police commandos who disapprove of such cruel and criminal killings, the press release averred.

However, will the statement of Imphal East SP that the two Kuki policemen involved in the incident carried out the act on their own personal interest suffice, asked Yoiheiba.

He further asked, "Do Chief Minister O Ibobi, who holds the Home portfolio, and DGP Y Joykumar have to remain silent over the fake encounters in which many innocent persons are killed daily?" .

In fact the two are the masters of all these happenings.

People are waiting for their reply, the press release stated asking if it would be an exaggeration to say that the two are responsible for turning the lives of the people into toys in the hands of the IOF.
