Imphal, April 30 2009: A COMBINED force of 34 Assam Rifles and Thoubal police commandos killed another suspected underground at the foot hill of New Tolen Khun in Thoubal district even as identities of all the four suspects killed yesterday in two separate shoot out incidents were identified today.

Today, at around 6.30 am, a suspected underground activist was gunned down by a combined force of Thoubal police commandos and troops of 34 Assam Rifles at New Tolen village under Thoubal police station and recovered a 9 mm pistol loaded with four live rounds of ammunition, according to police report.

Police reports said that the suspect was killed by the combined force who conducted a search operation at Ukhongsang, New Tolen, Ring Pam and Salungpham villages based on specific information of taking shelter some underground elements there.

The combined force rushed towards the New Tolen village after they were informed of escaping some underground activists towards the area.

When they reached the foot hill area of the village, some undergrounds opened fired toward the security force in which they retaliated resulting in killing one of them.

Other managed escaped taking advantage of the bushes of the area, the police source added.

Later, police recovered a 9 mm pistol with four live rounds of ammunition from the suspect whose identity is yet to established and kept at RIMS morgue, Imphal.

On the other hand, all the four youths slain in the hand of the security forces in two separate shoot out incidents involving combined forces have been established today at RIMS morgue.

The three youths killed at Tarahei Awang Leikai under Wangoi police station yesterday at around 3.20 pm were identified as Lourembam Yaiphaba alias Sashikumar (25) son of L tomba of Kakwa Oinam Leikai, Kshetrimayum Sanjit alias Thoi (25) .
