Imphal, January 31 2009: MLA RK Anand has said that the state government is fooling the people of the state and those 18 person who sacrificed their lives by remaining silent on the setting of a camp by the NSCN(IM) at Siroy in Ukhrul of Manipur where there cease fire between the outfit and GOI not extended which come to light after the stand-off between the cadres of the outfit and Assam Rifles.

The MLA was speaking as at the 40th foundation day of the Youth Council Manipur (YCM), Konjeng Leikai Club Keithel cum inauguration of the newly constructed building of the council today.

The function was graced by G Brajabihari Pradhan of the Sangaiporou Gram Panchayat as guest of honour which was presided by YCM president K Monoranjan.

RK Anand observed that the prevailing situation at Siroy between the AR and NSCN(IM) is not a light matter as people of the state believed that the cease fire between the NSCN (IM) and GOI do not extend to Manipur after June 18, 2001 uprising which claim 18 precious lives of the people in Imphal.

People believed that government will force to close down open camps of the outfit set up in Tamenglong, Chandel, Senapati and Ukhrul, he said.

There has instant of suspending IRB personnel quietly for seizing huge quantity of weapons of the NSCN(IM) and treating men of the Kilonser of NSCN(IM) by the state government at Chandel.

The camping of NCSN(IM) at Siroy is in total contrast to the assurance given by the Congress government not to break the territorial integrity of the state at the time of election, he said.

He also demanded a white paper from the state government how and why NCSN(IM) is opening its camp at Siroy.

The matter should not be ended at the Cabinet level only and Assembly seating should be called at the earliest, he further demanded.

Anand also reacted to the statement given by the outer Manipur MP, Mani Cheranamei which reported stated that the cease fire between the NSCN(IM) and GOI has fall into a meaningless one by keeping encircle to NSCN(IM) camp at Siroy and said that he was not a representative of the people but for only one community.
