Bodies of two slain AR men taken home

Imphal, November 24 2009: Out of the five Assam Rifles personnel who were killed in the ambush laid by MPA, armed wing of proscribed UNLF yesterday, the bodies of two of them have been flown to their respective native place today.

Five personnel of 43 Assam Rifles identified as Major Bhupendra Mehra (33) of Indira Nagar under Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh; Assistant Commandant (MO) Dr Ramendra Kumar (37) of Lauwan Village under Siwan district, Bihar; Havildar Bipan Singh Parmar (43) of Kangoo Village under Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh; Havildar Narayan Singh (37) of Piparia Sera village under Pithorogarh district, Uttarkhand and Rifleman Ajaykumar (35) of Prasad Bigha village under Jehanabad district of Bihar were killed in the ambush laid by the armed wing of UNLF at Old Somtal, Chandel district at around 9 am yesterday.

The post mortem examination on the five bodies was conducted at RIMS today.

All of them bore bullet wounds.

The bodies of Havildar BS Parmar an Nayaran Singh have been flown to their respective native place after the post-mortem, while the rest are still lying at the mortuary of RIMS.

Arrangements have been reportedly made for taking the remaining bodies to their respective native place as well tomorrow.
