Imphal, July 23: Presenting an altogether new aspect to the culture of 'absentee teachers' which have become very much a part of the prevailing education system in Manipuri, firebrand Opposition MLA O Joy today informed the House of a high, profile lady teacher who draws salaries white sitting within the comfort of her home, not in Manipur but at the National capital, New Delhi.

Joy declining to reveal the name of the lady teacher nevertheless said that she should be known by all and mentioned her Delhi address as Quarter No 29-B of CPWD.

Though a graduate in qualification, she works as an undergraduate teacher since July 13, 1986.But people actually came to know her as a teacher only in 1995-96, Joy said during the discussion on demand of the Education Department in the afternoon session.

Besides drawing regular salaries while staying at Delhi, this high profile lady had also taken a loan of Rs 1 lakh under PMRY scheme, 1995-96 from the State, Joy disclosed, arousing curiosity of the House further.
