Imphal, January 13 2009: The proscribed RPF has condoled the demise of its two cadres who were shot dead by Thoubal police commandos near Wabagai Buffalo farm on January 10 at 2.30 pm.

Refuting the version of Thoubal police, the outfit in a statement today said that the two deceased, Sgt Maj Thingujam Jiten alias Khumancha alias Sanathoi (31) of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai and Pte Laishram Boyai alias Tony (27) were arrested by Thoubal police commandos while they were going on a motor cycle at Khekma Kelli Makhong at 10 am of January 10 .

Later the two were taken to Khanarok at 12.30 pm and a number of arms and ammunition were seized.

After this the two were killed near Buffalo farm at 2.30 pm, alleged the outfit.

The arms seized from Khanarok included four short AK-56 rifles (arms number 301028, 301074, 301057 and 301018), two AK-56 rifles (arms number 23295, 23301), two AK 56 folding including one with defects (arms number 13103642), 19 AK magazine including one with defects, 1185 AK bullets, two M79 lethod guns with seven bullets and four pressure bombs, said RPF.

Though such a huge quantity of arms were seized, the Thoubal police gave a distorted account and said that only three AK-56 rifles, four bullets, two pressure bombs were recovered, charged the outfit and questioned where the rest of the arms are to be sold off.

Or are the arms to be planted after killing innocent people ? It asked.

RPF/PLA has not changed its stance of not hitting out at the State police for all are our brethren, said the statement and added that now it is upto the police commandos to decide how long the outfit should stick to its principles of not hitting out.

It would be better for the police commandos to remember how many of them were killed before the RPF/PLA adopted the stance of not hitting out at them, reminded the statement.

The RPF/PLA adopted the stand of not hitting out at the police commandos in response to the appeals raised by the women folk to stop fratricidal killings, said the outfit and added that if it wishes, RPF/PLA can also strike out at the police commandos anytime, anywhere it pleases.

The RPF/PLA has never and will never regard the police commandos as well trained personnel, said the outfit and added that the two cadres were killed after severe torture by taking advantage of the policy of the outfit not to target State force.

Sharing the pain and grief of the family members, the outfit recalled that Sgt Maj Khumancha joined the outfit on January 31, 1999 and was promoted to L/Cpl September 22, 2001, to Cpl on February 22, 2003, to Sgt on July 16, 2005, and to Sgt Maj on February 23, 2007 .

Some important assignments he took part in included the assassination of commando Y Lokhon on February 20, 2006 in which four commandos were killed and two injured and recovered two AKs, said the outfit.
