Imphal, May 01 2009: A 23-year old youth was found bludgeoned to death inside the campus of a school at Chingmeirong under Lamphel Police Station of Imphal West District today morning.

According to police report, identity of the victim has been established as one P Sangreiwung (23) s/o Peter of Mapum village under Chingai sub-division of Ukhrul district.

His body was found inside the campus of Sindamsang Residential High School.

Apart from injury marks probably made by some heavy objects on his head, a boulder with blood stains has also been recovered not far from the spot where the body was found.

After the local people reported the matter, police picked up the body.

A note with the name written as 'P Sangreiwung (MPA/NAC) of Mapum village, Ukhrul' and the address given as P Avasing/Yarshung, Viewland Bazar, Ukhrul' written on it was recovered from his body on whose basis the victim could be identified.

The body has been handed over to his family members after post-mortem at RIMS Hospital.

According to close relatives, Sangreiwung was a simple student.
