Imphal, May 19 2009: In a renewed attack on the non-locals in the state, another man hailing from Uttar Pradesh suffered bullet injury when some gunmen this evening at around 6.10 pm at a place only some 100 meter away from Wangoi police station.

The injured man was identified as Bana Yadav (28) son of Mangru Yadav of Kushinagar village of Uttar Pradesh presently resinig at a rented house at Khoyathong.

He has been admitted at RIMS hospital tonight at around 7.30 pm.

As told by the injured man, the incident occurred when he along with his two other non-local friends were returning from Yumnam Huidrom Laxmi Bazar after offloading chicken feed in a Mahindra jeep.

The vehicle was drove by one Maibam Ajit (35) son of Kriti of Lilong Chajing.

When they come back after offloading the chicken feed, two miscreants who were apparently waiting for them nearby a bylane stopped the vehicle and asked the driver to turn the drive the vehicle to the direction they pointed.

Defying the diktat of the two miscreants, the driver tried to drove to the same direction toward Imphal.

At that one of the miscreants took out a gun and fired at them, the injure Bana recalled.

The two miscreants came on a motorcycle.

In the aftermath of the incident, additional force rushed to the spot and launched search operations in the area to trace out the miscreants suspected to be militants, police report said adding that no arrest or pick up of suspected person made.
