Imphal, November 16 2008: A PULF activist was killed by Thoubal police commandos at Khongjom Patpal last night even as a man was shot and injured in the thigh by suspected activists of PREPAK near his house at Kangjabi Leirak here this morning.

Though the PULF activist was said to be killed in a clash with the police commandos occurred at Khongjom Patpal around 11 O'clock last night, the family said that the deceased identified as Moirangthem Viva (38), son of Rampishak of Kakching Turel Wagma Wakhong Pareng was killed after arrest from his home.

Police said, they recovered a 9mm pistol loaded with a live round, three empty cases along with three live rounds of AK ammunition from the spot.

Meanwhile, family said that he was a married man and is survived by two children.

But his wife had been separated about four years back.

He was reportedly picked up while he was watching picture at Azad Talkies at Kakching by a team of police commandos.

The dead body has been received by the family after post mortem at RIMS morgue today.

Meanwhile, a man named Lairenlakpam Tezmani (37) son of late Kullachandra of Kangjabi Leirak Meinum Leikai was shot to injure by a bullet today morning at around 8.30 am.

Reports said that he was shot at by the miscreants suspected to belong to PREPAK (GS group) after calling out from his home on the pretext of asking a way to escape from the police.

Tezmani who received a bullet at his thigh has been evacuated immediately at RIMS.

According to the family, he was a contractor some year back but had left now.

The motive behind was also not known to the family.
