Rs 1 lakh reward for two Wanted UNLF cadres

Imphal, June 06 2009: The police department, Government of Manipur has announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for any information of two cadres of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) who carried out cold-blooded murder of two employees of ANSAL.

The two employees namely, Md Tomba of Jiribam Islamabad and Shibajur Mazumdar of Katanpur village, Lakhimpur in Cachar (Assam) were shot dead on Thursday at the inter village canal between Irengban and Leimaram in Bishnupur district.

Announcing the reward in a press note, DGP Manipur, Y Joykumar informed that any person or persons giving information leading to the arrest of the two would be rewarded Rs 1 lakh from the Manipur police.

The DGP stated that the information may be given to any of the valley district Senior Superintendents, viz Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal or the DGP, Manipur.

He also assured of maintaining confidentiality of the source.

The two UNLF cadres have been identified as S/S Captain Kumar @ Loya of Keinou Thongkhong and S/S Sergeant Sagolshem Athouba @ Yuremba, son of S Budhi of Wapokpi Chingol Leikai, Sugnu, Thoubal district.

It is also worth noting here that Clay Khongsai, IPS and senior superintendent of Thoubal district police has announced a cash award of Rs.50, 000/ for any information leading to the arrest of S/S sergeant Samadram Jugol @ Thambaljao (31), son of Bihari of Thoubal Haokha and S/S Lance Corporal Keisham Herojit @ S Loktak s/o K.Achouba of Heirok Part II Laishram Leikai, both of UNLF allegedly involved in the murder of another non-local, Lalan Thakur, a barber from Bihar at Wabagai Lamkhai in Thoubal district yesterday.
