Imphal, December 04, 2008: In connection with the encounter which took place between a combined force of Thoubal Police Commandos and 34 AR personnel and unidentified militants at Pechi on December 1 at around 5.45 pm, SP of Thoubal district Clay Khongsai has asserted that all three slain persons have nexus with underground organisations.

Quoting police records, the SP said that Waikhom Rabi alias Kabi (25) s/o late W Achoubi Singh of Ningomthong Kitnapanung was a KCP (Noyon Faction) cadre who had been earlier arrested three times i.e.on 7/10/2005, 13/7/2007 and 13/6/2008 while Waikhom Somen Singh alias Chumthang Khanba (27) s/o of W Naba Singh of Ningomthong Kitnapanung was a cadre of UNLF of 17th batch having army no.1059 who later joined KCP.

Moreover, the third person namely Wangkheimayum Hemanta Singh (28) s/o W Shamu Singh of Kakwa near community hall was a new recruit of KCP, the SP added.
