Satish JAC to intensify agitation

Imphal, June 01 2009: Committee on the killing of L Satish today has decided to intensify its agitations further alleging that despite various protests were launched government failed to take up positive action with regard to the controversial killing.

Even though, the committee with the support of the people had launched various forms of agitations demanding booking of the culprits security forces involved in the merciless killing of the L Satish, government remained silent without hearing the cry of the people for justice, said the convener of the committee, Sh Ibemhal said addressing at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul, Imphal this afternoon.

Government remaining silent is an unfortunate thing, she blamed.

She also expressed dissatisfaction on the part of the various NGOs and civil societies, and people as well for leaving the matter only to this open violation of life to life of the people to the residents of Singjamei area only.

The committee has been launching protest agitation not for individual sack but to ban government forces committing such illegal activities by awarding punishment to the faulty security personnel.

If such incident of killing continues unrestrained, the state will be society of widows.

Apart from hue and cry rocks the state, various issues which may dragged down the society into hell may come up, she observed.

Settlement on various issues was brought about in the state with strong insistence and pressures from the people backed by various civil societies.

On the matter of controversial killing L Satish, if people rise in one voice, such unrestrained killing of innocent people could be check and stop more women becoming widow, she further observed.

From the committee side, she announced, closing down of government offices and banning movement of government vehicles will start.

If situation bound, statewide general strike will be followed.

Father of the Satish who also present in the press conference said that from his side, he has completed for moving to the law court for justice.

He is getting ready for filing a writ petition to the high court apart from filing a PIL.

He also strongly charged that a dead body which was identified by the family has been disposed off by the government authority and erased all evidence.

He will try his best to become the matter not only a state issue but also a national issue.

For this, he is getting ready to call on with the Prime Minister of the country, Sharat, the father of the deceased Satish informed.

He also alleged the killing of his son as an act of terrorists.
