IB, CISF teams inspect Raj Bhavan security

Imphal, September 22 2009: Teams of Central Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) separately inspected security protection at the Imphal Raj Bhavan in the aftermath of failed car bomb attack inside the Raj Bhavan complex on September 18 last.

The IB team has investigated into the incident of detecting IED in a civilian car park inside the Raj Bhavan taking serious note on the intrusion of underground in the strictly protected area.

The CISF posting at Imphal Airport and also guarding the Chief Minister also conducted a survey in and around the Raj Bhavan yesterday evening.

Sources hinted of taking over the charge of guarding the Governor and Imphal Raj Bhavan by the force.

The survey was conducted under the supervision of the CISF Commandant Mallik.

The team also inspected the security infrastructure development at the chief minister bungalow which is currently in progress.

Mention may be made that since the attack with bomb last year, the protection of chief minister has been taken over by the CISF stationing at Imphal Airport.

The CISF team also conducted survey on the southern side of the Kangla fort situation between the Raj Bhavan and Chief Minister Bungalow.

A car fitted with IED was found parked at the parking area of the Imphal Raj Bhavan on September 18 last which was later claimed KCP (MC), Lanheiba group behind the plan.
