Imphal, February 14 2009: Body of the suspected UG activist gunned down by a team of Thoubal district police commandos on February 7 afternoon in between Langathel and Phundrei of the district had been disposed off as an unclaimed corpse.

On completion of post mortem at RIMS morgue yesterday the body was handed over to Imphal Municipal Council authorities for the disposal.

The police commandos had reported recovery of a 9 mm pistol and a magazine with two rounds from the individual.

Meanwhile, body of another suspected UG cadre gunned down by troops of 29 Assam Rifles at Wangphulok under Tengnoupal police station on February 7 night is being kept at the mortuary awaiting identification.

The corpse would also be disposed off tomorrow in case no one claims the same, said a statement issued by Tengnoupal police station.
