Imphal, May 05 2009: The State Government represented by Chief Minister O Ibobi, PHE Minister TN Haokip, MTDC Minister Manga Vaiphei and PDA Chairman Kh Loken signed an MoU with the Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) in connection with the killing of police Constable T Lhungdim, posted at the office of the Churachandpur SP.

According to a press release issued by the KSO, the MoU contained four points which included payment of ex-gratia as per rules after receipt of police report on the killing.

Other points included initiating process for appointment of the next of kin of the deceased, extension of all permissible benefits to the family of the deceased and initiating necessary measures to check recurrence of such incidents in future.

In response, the KSO has agreed not to resort to any agitation and to claim the corpse of the deceased, it added.
