Imphal, January 05 2008: THE MYSTERY of Langdum murder case has been solved in a filmy style filled with suspense, violence and romance.

In a shocking turn in the tale of the murder of Wahidur Rahman on Friday, January 2, two juveniles aged 15 and eight have been caught and kept under police custody.

The reason of the murder being a matter of love affairs, a police source informed that the culprits and the deceased were close relatives.

The two culprits have been identified as Md Mujibur Rahman (15), son of Alauddin and Md Bungomacha (8), son of Alauddin of the Keirao Litan Makhong in Imphal East.

The 14 year-old boy, Wahidur Rahman was found murdered in a suspicious manner in a preserved jungle area of Langdum Hill under Irilbung Police Station in Imphal East on Friday.

He was practically nude when his lifeless body was found, informed a family source.

Informing of the arrest of the culprits, a reliable source conveyed that the police picked up Mujibur, supposedly the last person to meet Wahidur Rahman, for interrogation this morning.

During the interrogation, Mujibur broke down and confessed to the crime, stated the source adding that a love affair was the reason behind why Mujibur had murdered Rahman in a brutal manner.

Following the arrest of the culprits, family members this evening took the body from the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) morgue.

The last rite will be conducted tomorrow, informed a family member.

The JAC against the killing of Wahidur Rahman held a meeting at Keirao Litan Makhong this evening.

Police told the gathering that two murderers have been arrested but police did not disclose the identity of the two arrested persons.

As the evening hours passed, local people got the hints that the murderers were not Meeteis but turned out to be Muslims.

Then the crowd became agitated and started asking questions why the JAC did not disclose the identity of the murderers while knowing who they were.

Amids agitated and noisy scenes, the mob tried to set the house of Sahid Ali, General Secretary of the JAC on fire.

However, police brought the situation under control.

The two arrested accused will be produced before the court tomorrow.
