Imphal, June 04 2009: YOUTH killed by commbined force in "encounter" early this morning has been claimed as missing since yesterday evening from his farm at Kakching Moiranggpat.

The youth identified as Nongmaithem Rajmohon (24) of Kakching Turen Wangma Shantipur was gunned down by a combined force of 20 Assam Rifles and Thouba1 police commandos around 3.50 am today at Karongthel unnder Kakching police station in an alleged encounter.

An AK-56 rifle along with two magazines loaded with 16 live rounds were recovered from the possesssion of the slain youth poolice said.

Police said the combined force killed him during a search operation in the area based on specific information.

However, family members who turned up to RIMS morgue for identification this afternoon said that Rajmohon was missing since yesterday evening after he went out for collecting vegetable from his farm at Moirangpat.

The killing took place while family and relatives were searching after they got information that some unknown might have picked him up from his farm.

The family has received the dead body after postmortem a RIMS morgue Imphal this afternoon.
