Imphal, October 22 2008: In protest against the last night's firing attack by unidentified gunmen at the Heirangoithong residence of L Tiken who is the director of Sports Authority of India (SAI), North East Regional Centre, Imphal, staff and sportspersons staged a Wakat Meepham at the SAI complex here today.

Around 100 staff and players participated in the protest demonstration held from 10 am to 5 pm putting placards and banners inscribed with slogans like 'We don't want gun culture', 'We want peace', 'Respect human rights', 'Don't interference in sports', etc.
