Imphal, September 18: Human rights crusader Irom Chanu Sharmila has been remanded to judicial custody till October 1 after she was produced before the court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) at Lamphelpat yesterday.

While at the court premise sharmila broke down upon hearing that her mother is feeling unwell.

Sharmila regards her mother as the inspiration for their untiring endeavour to protest continued imposition of the draconian Armed Forces' Special Powers Act 1958.she had been put up at the security Ward of JN Hospital for over eight years with periodically produced at relevant courts due to legal compulsion for her agitation.
