RPF rejects police claim of arms recovery

Imphal, January 14 2010: Refuting the claims of the Additional SP Ak Jhalajit, the proscribed RPF in a press release signed by GM Changjou, Chief, Department of Publicity, RPF, said that the arms of the 252 mobile Bn of PLA had already been recovered as informed earlier through the media.

It will be prudent for this government to investigate where from these arms and ammunition appeared out of nowhere, or else in their quest to further their career and please their masters, they will continue to harass innocent public endlessly, warned the release.

Further Thamongjam Samson and Huidrom Bhogen who are in their custody and who were paraded before the media are in no way connected to PLA.

The chain of events proves that police commandos and security forces have no compunction in harassing common people, said the release and that the RPF already knows that the two deserters are in the custody of Assam Rifles.

In an unrelated matter, the 252 mobile Bn while on the way for some work in the Singhat area bumped into a combined force led by ZRA which has been misguided by the government and the security forces, said the same release.

And that in the gun battle which lasted for more than one hour, 2 from the ZRA and security forces were killed and several were injured.

In the release, the PLA did not suffer any casualty said the release.

The release also warned the ZRA not to repeat such acts in the future, also recalling an incident where they had suffered the consequence of killing one unarmed PLA cadre.

ZRA, said the release, is not an enemy of RPF or its armed wing PLA and RPF does not view them differently.
