One hurt in blast

Imphal, November 30 2009: One person sustained minor splinter injury when unidentified miscreants hurled a bomb at a shop, 'Pal Compu Print,' which deals in computer works and mobile phone recharge coupons, located at Sagolband Bijoy Govind Mamang Leikai today around 11.50am.The bomb exploded right in front of the shop.

Rack glasses and tube lights of the shop were smashed by the explosion.

The owner of the shop was not present when the incident took place.

He was said to have went out to purchase shop items.

Police suspect the explosive to be a hand grenade.

The injured person has been identified as Laishram Premjit (25), son of Gyanen of Sagolband Bijoy Govinda Mamang Leikai.

He sustained minor injury at the elbow.

The owner of the shop is one Laithangbam Noren (34) son of L Labango of Sagolband Nepra Major Leikai.

According to the locals, vehicles of security forces were seen heading towards Langjing side while another headed in an opposite direction.

MEANWHILE, in an unrelated incident, unknown miscreants tossed a bomb at the grocery store of Thokchom Bhama (58), son of (L) Sajor, located at Khongjom Bazar this morning around 7 .

Bomb experts have neutralised the bomb later around noon-time, according to a report.

In another incident, a bomb was found planted at the residence of Tongbram Rajen (49), son of (L) T Julon, at Utlou Makha Leikai under Nambol police station this morning around 10.The Bomb Squad of Police diffused the bomb later.
