Imphal, June 23 2009: A bomb suspected to have been left behind by unidentified armed persons was retrieved from the residential compound of Laishram Gopal Singh of Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai at around 4.30 pm today.

Gopal is the Divisional Forest Officer posted at the Research and Training Centre of the Forest Department at Mantripukhri.

Condemning the incident, Panthoibi Women Association (Meira Lup) has demanded to know the reason and the group responsible for the placing the bomb.

In a statement, Association president Th Binodini Devi also appealed to all concerned to ensure such incidents of creating panic and fear among the people is not repeated.
