Imphal, July 22: Protests demanding the release of the missing students is gaining strength in Imphal.

The women folks of Singjamei Chinga Makha on Tuesday organised a sit-in-protest at Singjamei against the kidnapping of kids by unknown persons and demanded an immediate and safe release of the kids.

They demanded that the kids be handed over to the family safely.

The protesters held placards which read 'Release the children', 'Children are future pillar'.

It might be mention here that the Director General of Police had assured of security personnel at every checking point to alert about the missing children.

But despite this effort the case of missing children is growing by the day in the state drawing more protests from all corners.

In relation to the case of missing children, the United People's Front (UPF) and the Ethno Heritage Council on Monday had taken a five point resolution and appealed to the government and the militants to maintain the rights of the child.

Another sit in protest was also held at Kakwa, Imphal West, organised by the local women and club in protest against the kidnapping of children by unknown persons.
