Imphal, January 14 2009: Refuting police claim, the armed outfit PULF has clarified that Md Ilyas Khan s/o Md Abdul Helim of Yairipok Tulihal who was reportedly shot dead by a combined force of Imphal West Police Commandos and personnel of 32 Assam Rifles during a reported encounter at Samurou Awang Leikai was not a member of the outfit nor he had any connection with the outfit.

In a statement, publicity secretary of the armed outfit Md Anish Khan observed that as long as the killing of innocent able men by the security forces and later dubbing them as UGs continued, the day would not be far when the land would be depopulated of the male reducing it to a land of widows.
