Imphal, January 11: For the three phase Assembly elections scheduled for February, the Election Commission has instructed the Chief Electoral Officer of Manipur to construct ramps in all the polling stations so that physically challenged people can cast their votes.

An official source informed The Sangai Express that the instruction of the EC was in accordance to a ruling of the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, a committee to look into and certify advertisements of candidates and political parties through TV channels and Cable networks has been constituted today with Additional CEO PK Singh as Chairperson.

DC Imphal West and Returning Officer of Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency A Ibocha and Assistant Director of AIR Imphal M Kanankumar were appointed members of the Committee.

As a designated officer, the DC Imphal West would issue certificates to candidates and political parties for their advertisements.
