Imphal, December 08 2009: The underground Kuki Liberation Army (KLA) today clarified that the report which appeared in sections of media that Hemmang alias Mamang Touthang and Henmang Touthang alias Tiger were reportedly killed on December 5 at B Vengnom gate in Churachandpur by KNO/KLA was false.

The information and publicity secretary of KLA, Armstrong Gangte told reporters today somewhere in Ukhrul district that the two persons were killed by KNO/KNA as there is no more KNO/KLA.

He said, the KLA merged under the fold of United People's Front (UPF) denouncing the divide and rule policy of the KNO.

The name of KNO/KNA was abolished.

He alleged that the KNO has disintegrated the KNO/KLA and divided the members into Touthang and Doungel groups.

Now the Doungel group has formed the KRF.

Not only this, the KNO has also disintegrated the ZRA and was instrumental in the formation of ZDF.

He further alleged that the group also killed the general secretary cum finance secretary of ZDF, Abraham Zou.

Armstrong charged that the KNO/KNA was not formed to work for the interest of the Kukis.

It is a group whose main purpose is to create misunderstanding among the communities within the Kuki fold.

He alleged the KNO/KNA of killing at least 12 members of the Touthang group including 'captain' Shoshon, Jilngam, Goulen Jangthang, Paolen, Tongmang, Kaithang, Jangngam, Khailen, Hemmang alias Mamang, and Henmang.

Armstrong also expressed deep apprehension that the KNO/KNA's Zalen-gam movement is against its people.

He said that the ex-gratia for the four KLA cadres killed by 12 MLI in Ukhrul recently should be given to the UPF.

The KNA has nothing to do with the ex-gratia of the four cadres.
