Family finds faux pas in identity of wanted UG

Imphal, June 07 2009: A couple whose names have been mentioned as father and mother of one of the wanted UNLF cadres in the state DGP's announcement for reward charging them as involved in the killing of two employees of ANSAL Company has clarified that the man who has been projected as their son is not their son.

The couple, Sagolsem Budhi and Sagolsem ongbi Ibemcha along with their children have taken shelter at the quarter of the state works minister, K Ranjit as they are feeling apprehension of any untoward incident arising out of the wrong announcement.

Budhi said that the person by the name Thouba alias Yuremba who DGP has announced as wanted with reward of Rs 1 lakh is not their son.

They have no son by the name even though the home address (Upokpi Chingol Leikai, Sugunu of Thoubal district) mentioned in the statement showed that the wanted man is their son.

None of his called by the name Thouba alias Yuremba he clarified adding that the mistake has caused inconveniences to the family.

He himself attains 46 year and has two sons and a daughter.

The eldest son is 20 years old while the second son has attained 18 year of age.

The only daughter now attains 16 year.

My wife is very young and the photo that appeared in the newspapers published in Imphal which claimed as their son is appeared to be age range of his wife.

Apart from this his sons have no connection with any underground outfits.

As a result of the news reported to the media, the peacefully atmosphere of the family has been greatly disturbed and are taking shelter at minister Ranjit's quarter Apart from this, there are two persons whose names are similar (Budhi) as father of the wanted killer.

So, mentioning the killer as his son is totally wrong one.

He further informed the DGP to come and verified his sons stating that he along with his family members are currently taking shelter at the minister Ranjit's quarter in Imphal.

He also demanded clarification from the DGP side on the mistake that took place.

On the other hand, a statement dispatched by the Women United Development Organisation, Wapokpi branch also clarified that even though the name of the father and mother of one of the UNLF cadres who are wanted by the police for involvement in the killing of non-locals is a resident of the village, any of the persons in the photos appeared in the newspapers are not match with the sons of Sagolsem Budhi.

More over, none of the sons of Budhi have joined any underground groups.

Persons matching with the photographs resided in the village, the statement clarified.

It also urged the DGP to clarified the matter and help in leading the family a peaceful and normal life.
