Imphal, December 04, 2008: Parents and family members of late Konsam Rishikanta has conveyed gratitude to the people of Manipur and the All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) for standing by the bereaved family.

In a press release, Rishikanta's father Budhichandra expressed regret for cancellation of newspaper publication and telecasting local news in cable network during the 13 days of AMWJU's stir.

The family further conveyed sincere gratitude to all those who shared the pain and grief of the shattered families as well as to all those who helped the family financially, physically and words of consolation.

They expressed deep respect and appreciation of the invaluable help and support provided by the AMWJU, civil organisations, Works Minister K Ranjit, Thongju A/C MLA Bijoy Koijam, ex-MLA Laisom Ibomcha, Editors, journalists, friends, dear and near ones of late Rishikanta.

The family also prayed that CBI may bring justice to the killing of Rishikanta and that the death of Rishikanta may be the last of media persons dying in the hands of unidentified persons.
