Imphal, May 02 2009: For the third time within a span of 35 days, unidentified armed persons attacked at the Thangmeiband Hijam Leikai residence of Dr Bilashini with hand grenade yesterday.

According to police report, the hand grenade which landed near the veranda exploded at around 6.30 pm yesterday.

Though there was no human casualty in the attack, the explosion caused damage to a Maruti Van (MN-01K/8053) which was stationed nearby and many flower pots.

The first grenade attack at the residence of Dr Bilashini occurred on March 28 and the second on April 11 .

On the other hand, bomb experts of the Police Department have retrieved another Chinese-made hand grenade which was left behind by unidentified persons near the residential gate of one Moirangthem Shambabu at Tera Sapam Leirak.

Shambabu is the Chief Engineer of Minor Irrigation Department.

The bomb was detected at around 5.30 am yesterday.
