Jiribam, September 20, 2009: A man was found dead at Diklang village in Cachar district, Assam this morning, reports our correspondent.

According to information received from Jirighat police station, social activist Md Abdul Jabber (70) was abducted from his Diklang home at about 11 pm yesterday.

Fatal wounds made by a sharp weapon like knife were observed on the body.

Jirighat Police discovered the corpse from his own village this morning.

The identity and motive of the killers could not ascertained till the time of filing this report.

After registration of an FIR, Jirighat police has launched an investigation into the killing.
