Police said, the deceased person would be the deputy army chief of KLA, Thangboi.

Police believe that he was brought there by some UG cadres and shot him dead there.

The dead body was retrieved from the spot by Nambol police and deposited at RIMS morgue, Imphal for official procedure.

Meanwhile, the underground Kangleipak Communist Party-Military Council (KCP-MC) of Lamyanba Khuman faction has claimed that the party awarded capital punishment to the Deputy Chief of KLA, Thangboi, who was allegedly the main culprit involved in the killing of two of its comrades on the intervening night of October 27 and 28 at an adjoining place of Senapati and Tamenglong districts.

A statement issued by IPR officer of KCP (MC), Puranthaba held the deputy chief of KLA, Thangboi responsible for the killing of two comrades of the KCP (MC) who were killed by a combined team of the KLA and troops of 57 Mountain Division.

It stated that Thangboi was killed by comrades of the KCP (MC), Lamyanba Khuman at Waroi Ching near Leimaram Maning today as a revenge for the killing of the two cadres.

The statement noted that the existence of people who claimed to work for the people by representing a community and group and who work as secret agent for the Indian Army has impeded the revolutionary movement.

The KCP (MC) further stated that hill-based underground groups should not cause inconvenience to people in the valley and restricted them from carrying out any finance-related activity.

It also asserted that the outfit had never caused trouble to people in the hill while also pledging that the outfit will not carry out such activity in future.

The outfit also pledged to award stringent punishment to any hill-based organisation carrying out unwanted activities in the valley.

Any complain should be made to the outfit through e-mails [email protected], and [email protected] .
