Imphal, June 10 2009: Protest demonstrations in denunciation of the detention of student activists who had been arrested by security forces in connection with the gunning down of Manipur University's Professor md Islamuddin continue unabated.

flaying State authorities for arresting the student activists and demanding their release womenfolk and students staged sit-in-protests at Lamlong Keithel, Itam Nungoi, Pungdongbam, Seijang, Sekta, Leimakhong Mapal, Sabungkhok and Yaingangpokpi areas today.

Out of a total of 13 student activists pulled up in connection with the slaying of the MU professor, eight were released on bail while five of them are serving jail term as NSA detainees.
