Imphal, February 07 2010: In protest of the firing attack by unidentified armed persons at the Sega Road Khwairakpam Leikai residence of Dr Kangujam Nilachandra, who is the head of Orthopedic Department, JN Hospital, in the afternoon of January 13 last womenfolk of four localities jointly staged a Wakat Meepham today.

Womenfolk of Sega Road Khwairakpam Leikai, Konjeng Hazari Leikai, Leimajam Leikai and Meisnam Nongthombam Leikai who participated in the protest demonstration have also appealed to all concerned to ensure such incidents are not repeated.

Apart from opening blank firing and kicking at the windows, the unidentified armed persons also reportedly opened shoots shattering the rear wind shield of a Chevolet Spark car of the doctor parked in the courtyard.

This was the second attack by unidentified armed persons at the residence of Dr Nilachandra.

In the first incident which took place on October 16 last year, unidentified persons torched the same car.
