Four get bail, five detained

Imphal, October 03 2009: Four out of the nine people arrested by police suspected to be involved in the abortive attempt to blow up a car-bomb inside Raj Bhavan complex on September 18 have been released on bail while the remaining five have been remanded to judicial custody till October 17 .

All the nine suspects were produced before the Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class Imphal today.

After a lengthy hearing, the Court released Yumnam Boy (27) s/o Bulei of Langmeidong Mamang Leikai, Sapam Gunamani (41) s/o late Tomal of Loitang Khunou, Chaphamayum Mangi (53) s/o Tomei of the same locality and Yumnam Ranjit (42) s/o late Tomba of Maharabi Mayai Leikai.

The five suspects remanded to judicial custody till October 17 are Khumanlambam Jiten alias Taton alias Tyson alias Brojen (35) s/o Shamu of Nongren Mayai Leikai, Chongtham Laingam alias Budha (36) s/o Doren of Sagolband Tera Amudon Leirak, Khumanlambam Naba (45) s/o late Modhu of Porompat Nongmeibung, RK Ingocha (41) s/o late Netrajit of Singjamei Wangma Bheigyabati Leikai and Sorokhaibam Sanayaima (44) s/o late Nityai of Salam Mayai Leikai.

Out of them, Sorokhaibam Sanayaima has been slapped with National Security Act.
