Imphal, January 18 2009: Of the four UG suspects shot dead by security forces in reported encounters at three different places in the valley area yesterday, the identities of two have been established.

The two individuals shot dead by a combined force of Thoubal police commandos and Imphal West commandos on the road to Khurkhul from Sekmai last night have been identified as Irom Saratchandra (38) s/o Gouramani of Uripok Polem Leikai and Sagolsem Momon alias Ngouba (50) s/o (L) Manao of Nongada Shantipur.

Saratchandra had been living at his wife's place near Bishnupur District Hospital since 4/5 years back.

He was a contractor.

He left behind his wife, two sons and two daughters.

Momon alias Ngouba joined KCP about 10 years back.

At the time of his death, he was cadres of the KCP-MC (Lamyanba Khuman group).

Earlier, he was arrested and lodged in jail.

He left behind three daughters and two sons.

His wife had expired already.

The corpse has been claimed by family members after post mortem today but the corpse of Momon is still lying at RIMS mortuary.
