Imphal, January 15 2009: Both the suspected UG cadres shot dead at Longa Koireng and at a spot between Sao-bungkhok and Seijang on January 14 and January 13 respectively have been identified.

The suspected UG cadre shot dead by a combined team of Imphal West commandos and troops of 16 AR at Longa Koireng last night has been identified as Robindro Naorem (28) s/o Kesho of Wangjing Awang Leikai.

Family members maintained that Robindro was not related to any UG group.

The corpse has been claimed by family members after post mortem at RIMS today.

The identity of the UG suspect shot dead at a spot between Saobungkhok and Seijang in the night of January 13 by a combined team of Imphal West commandos and troops of 23 AR has been established as Paonemlung (24) s/o Zangam of Ragailong.

The corpse has been handed over to family members after completion of post mortem examination at RIMS today.
