Imphal, October 06: Protesting the atrocities committed by Assam Rifles troops against the innocent civilians of Umathel and surrounding villages in the aftermath of the ambush undertaken by PREPAK against a convoy of 21 Assam Rifles on September 30, activists of the Apunba Lup set ablaze effigies of Chief Minister O Ibobi and the CO of 21 Assam Rifles at Keishampat today.

The protesters also shouted slogans like "We condemn AR atrocity at Umathel", "Repeal Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 ", " Stop targeting innocent people,' etc.
