Imphal, February 04 2010: The United People's Party of Kangleipak (UPPK), in a press release issued by its Asst Secretary Information and Publicity Department, Khuma Laishramcha, stated that SS Sgt Maj Irom Noabiton @Nando @ Malangba, 28 years (Batch no 10, Army no 10385) s/o Ibomcha r/o of Taokhong Ayungba Mamang Leikai, Imphal East District and SS Sgt Takhelamba @ Nanao @ Seile @ Ngamkhei, 22 years (Batch no 10 army no 15482) r/o Serou Mayai Leikai, Thoubal District, who were shot by Imphal East Police commandos on February 2 at Lairou Ching Tasar Farm, were both cadres of Kangliepak People's Army (KPA) of UPPK.

The release further stated that the two cadre were killed by the enemy as they over reached their brief and acted beyond the guidelines of the party.

The party also is aware of how the 4 weapons and large quantities of ammunition issued to them were seized.

Condoling the death of the two cadres, the release stated that there is no point in saying anything about fake encounter or use of black laws as the present government in Manipur is akin to Nazism.
