Imphal, July 01 2009: The proscribed KCP (MC) has expressed its deep sorrow over the demise of KNF cadre, Thonginlen Kipgen alias Robert who was shot dead by 36 AR personnel on June 28 at Kangpokpi.

In a statement, Puranthaba, officer of the information and publicity wing of the outfit today said that Kipgen was killed while he was in civvies and added that the KNF is also in a SoO agreement with the Government.

This incident is a clear indication that the Government cares two hoots about adhering to the agreements reached with any party, said the outfit and added that it would be wrong for the people to remain mute when situation has come to such a pass.

The time has come for the people to defeat the attempt of the Government to sow the seeds of discord amongst the people of Manipur, it asserted.

The daily news of killings in staged encounter by security forces and police commandos and levelling charges after killing them are acts of cowardice, it added.

All the claims that 9 mm pistols have been recovered from the slain people are cooked up stories it claimed.

At such a juncture it is disturbing to see the KSO and Kuki AP (sic) maintaining a stoic silence, said KCP (MC).

The outfit also urged all the Government employees from the top hierarchy to the lowest rung to work sincerely for the betterment of society.
