Imphal, October 22 2009: In yet another instance of excesses of security personnel, a 45-year old man has been reportedly hospitalised after some IRB personnel beat him up in the courtyard of his house at Mahabali Kabui Khul here last night.

The victim has been identified as Kamei Joykumar Kabui (45) s/o late Kamei Pougongdai Kabui of Mahabali Kabui Khul.

While condemning the conduct of the IRB personnel in the strongest term, Mahabali Kabui Youth Club has demanded the Govt to take up appropriate action against the involved security personnel.

In connection with the incident, the family members informed that after taking his supper, Joykumar was resting in the courtyard of his own house when some IRB personnel who were on duty simply came inside and started beating him up without any reasons.

Before leaving, the security personnel also forced Joykumar to sign on a piece of paper at gunpoint, the family members alleged, adding that Joykumar was admitted for treatment in a private hospital.
