Imphal, January 16 2009: Claiming its hand in the killing of L Kunje alias Yangba of Lamshang Awang Leikai at Langol hills on January 12, the proscribed KCP (Lamphel) asserted that the individual was awarded capital punishment according to his incorrigible anti-party acts.

A press release issued by the outfit's valley operation commander Thoungamba accused Yangba of conspiring to eliminate two comrades of the party besides procuring one 9 mm pistol for the same purpose.

The outfit also blamed Kunje of collecting Rs 80,000 from four brick fields on his own in addition to taking Rs 50,000 from a woman from Langjing Achouba with false assurance to give heroin No 4 for the money.

Kunje reportedly attempted to kill the woman besides misleading two party comrades for his selfish ends.

The outfit conveyed that Kunje was already warned earlier when he undertook similar anti-party activities in the past but was excused on his assurance to refrain himself from such activities.

After a minute study of his activities and considering the great damage likely to cause to the reputation of the party, Kunje was awarded capital punishment this time, added the release.
