Imphal, March 12, 2010: Demanding probe into the controversial death of a housewife on February 23 last at Thoubal Leishangthem, a protest rally was marched on the streets at Khekman Bazar today.

Mention may be made that Yumnam ongbi Inakhunbi was found hang to death at her husband�s house on February 23 last in suspected manner.

The protest rally started from Khekman Bazar and proceeded up to Leishangthem Keli where it turned towards the Thoubal DC office to submit a memorandum demanding probe into the case of death of Inakhunbi and punish those involved in the case.

There occurred a brief heated exchange of words between the rallyists and police who blocked them before reaching the DC office.

Later, police allowed five representatives of the JAC formed in connection with the murder of the housewife and submit the memorandum.

The memorandum deamnd probe in the fact and circumstance leading to the death of the women.
