Imphal, January 12 2010: Office of an NGO located at Top Awang Leikai under Porompat police station was attacked by some unidentified persons by hurling a hand grenade this evening.

According to information culled from the spot, the hand grenade exploded in front of the office of an NGO named Village Development Organisation (VDO) at about 6 pm.

However, there is no report of any casualty.

VDO caretaker Ayekpam Nillakomol and his family were present at the time of the blast, said VDO secretary M Dhameshwar.

He said that there is no case of any monetary demand or threat from any UG group.

Meanwhile, the Nehru Memorial Club and the Top Awang Leikai Apunba Nupishingi Lamjing Lup have condemned the grenade attack.

They have also appealed to all concerned to own and explain the attack.
