Imphal, August 10 2009: Deputy Director of Tribal Development Department Solomon Zingkhai has disclosed that the bomb attack at his Nagaram residence at about 6.40 pm yesterday was undertaken by the Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) in connection with a monetary demand.

Speaking to media persons at his home today, Solomon Zingkhai further disclosed that in May this year, the MNRF asked him to pay three percent of all schemes being implemented in Ukhrul district under TD Department.

Because of the prevailing law and order situation, selection of beneficiaries for different schemes were done at Imphal.

As the beneficiaries were selected by a committee headed by the TD Minister as chairman, Solomon Zingkhai informed the MNRF his inability to fulfil their demand as he has no power to deduct any money despite being the Deputy Director.

"This might be the possible reason behind the bomb attack at my residence yesterday", Solomon said.

He also appealed to all concerned not to undertake such bomb attacks in future.

Meanwhile, the MNRF has claimed responsibility for the bomb attack at the Nagaram residence of the TD Deputy Director yesterday.
