Imphal, May 02 2009: The proscribed KYKL has condoled the demise of its MYL Pvt Naorem Tamon alias Sunder alias Ramjee (35) s/o N Ibotombi of Kakching Irum Mapal.

According to a press release issued by the outfit's deputy secretary of publicity and research, Tamon was shot dead by a combined team of Imphal West commandos and Assam Rifles troops in a staged managed encounter at Laingam Khun under Lamsang police station at about 9.15 pm of April 29.Tamon was picked up by a team of Imphal West commandos from a brick field located at Hiyangthang at about 2.40 pm of April 29 .

Tamon was shot dead in the evening after subjecting him to severe torture.

Saying that no weapons were with Tamon when he was pulled up, the outfit alleged that the 9 mm pistol and bullets reported to have been recovered from Tamon were the same worn out weapons security forces used to keep near the corpses of slain individuals.

The KYKL and its armed wing MYL also shared the pain and grief being endured by the bereaved family.
