Imphal, October 31 2009: The proscribed KCP (MC) has condoled the death of L/Cpl Aribam Megha alias Sathiba (29) s/o A Shyamgopal and A Ibemhal of Nongren Mayai Leikai and L/Cpl Rajesh Thapa alias Lamyanba (24) of Bin Bahadur and Maya Devi of Gamnung village, Ukhrul district.

According to a press release issued by the outfit's information and public relations officer Puranthaba, the two cadres were killed in a gun-battle with a combined team of 57 Mountain Division troops and cadres of a UG group at a place located at the juncture of Senapati and Tamenglong districts in the intervening night of October 27 and 28 .

The combined team took advantage of the information provided by some informers about the location of the KCP(MC) cadres.

Saying that they identified the informers as well as the particular UG group collaborating with security forces, the outfit pledged that it would retaliate accordingly.

The outfit also claimed responsibility for the bomb attack at the residence of one Surchandra Singh at Ningthoukhong at about 9 pm yesterday.

It accused Surchandra of scheming to land some party cadres in trouble when they went to meet him besides making derisive remarks against the party's proposal/instruction.
