Imphal, January 31 2010: Unidentified persons threatened the family of Kangujam Nillachandra, Head of Orthopaedic Department, JN Hospital by opening fire at his Sega Road, Khwairakpam Leikai residence this afternoon.

According to information culled from the spot, two unidentified youngsters came to the doctor's residence at about 1.30 pm and fired two rounds, one at the wind-shield of a car kept at the courtyard and another in the air.

Further, the youngsters kicked the main door of the house and banged it with gun-butt.

Police later recovered one projectile of a spent bullet from Dr Nillachandra's courtyard.

On October 16 last year, unidentified persons set afire front portion of the same car.

It has not been long since the car was brought back from workshop after servicing.

Dr Nillachandra said that there was no monetary demand or threat from any UG group nor any personal animosity.

He said that he would like to settle all misunderstanding by talking peacefully.
