Imphal, July 30: Following threat and opposition to the ongoing combing operation of culling domestic fowls from every households by the RRT of the Veterinary and Animal Husbandry (VAH), police were requisition to ensure smooth conduct of the operation at Chingamathak Nameirakpam Leikai today.

According to Dr L Amukhomba who led the VAH team, the 5-member team have gone to resume the exercise of culling domestic fowls from every household which began since yesterday at Chingamathak Nameirakpam Leikai today.

But some local youth came out threatening against carrying out the culling operation and told the team to leave the place immediately at around 10 am today.

By that time, the five-member RRT of the VAH had already covered 10 households.

The operation, however, resumed without any untoward incident after arrival of police.

Around 1000 domestic birds have been culled from the said locality today and the same handed over to the recovery van for burying, Dr Amukhomba informed.
