Imphal, October 28, 2009: one IRB personnel posted at Tera Bazar tonight threatened Imphal's Principal Correspondent of the Telegraph, Khelen Thokchom saying that "Press is greater than the CM" at the Out Post.

Khelen Thokchom was returning after a meeting with the Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers and top civil and police officials at the Chief Minister's office tonight.

A resident of Tera bazar, Khelen Thokchom was returning home on a scooter at about 10 pm when someone from the IRB outpost at Tera shouted at him to stop.

He stopped and identified himself as a press man.

One IRB personnel came out and told him that he knew "You would be a press man.

You press people are greater than the CM, but there is no such thing as press to bullets of a gun!" The media persons of the state are taking the incident seriously.

It came when the media persons and the state government were just about to come to an agreement not to disturb each other.
